Helen Ireland – Singing Tutor

Helen studied the piano at the Royal Northern College of Music in England and the Peabody Conservatory of Music in the USA, having graduated from the University of Birmingham. Having started her professional life as an accompanist and ensemble player in the classical music field, she then entered the theatre world as Assistant Musical Director on the original productions of The Hired Man  and Girlfriends. She has worked as a Musical Director in theatres all over England and abroad, including  productions in the West End  and at the Royal National Theatre.  She has combined this with a commitment to her teaching work with adults, students and children. In this regard, she has been involved in many educational projects, numerous Summer Schools, conducted massed choirs at the Barbican for Tower Hamlets Arts and a premiere by Kate Whitley [The Cruel Cut] for a charity on behalf of FGM survivors. She currently coaches actors in choral and solo singing, both privately and in training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, at Italia Conti Academy (Acting course) and at Fourth Monkey in London.
