Anna Jordan – Director/Acting Tutor
Anna trained as an actor at LAMDA. Fed up of being out of work, she started writing her own parts and has since gone from strength to strength as a playwright, director and acting tutor. Anna won the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting 2013 for her play Yen, which will have a production at Manchester Royal Exchange in 2015. Writing / directing includes FREAK (Assembly Studios Edinburgh / Theatre503) BENDER (Old Red Lion), and Stay Happy Keep Smiling (Soho Theatre). Directing includes Tomorrow I’ll Be Happy (National Theatre Shed) Crystal Springs (Eureka Theatre, San Francisco) and Only Human (Theatre503). Writing includes Chicken Shop (Park Theatre), The Ivory Year (LAMDA) and The Freedom Light (Company of Angels).
Anna is part of the BBC Drama Writer’s Scheme. She has directed, taught acting and playwriting at various establishments including RADA, LAMDA, Identity Drama School and Arts Ed as well as Italia Conti. Student productions include The Crucible, 4:48 Psychosis, Our Country’s Good and Vote of No Confidence. She also runs her own classes for professional actors. She is Artistic Director of Without a Paddle Theatre.
