Kate Williams – Director/Acting Tutor

Kate is one of the UK’s leading tv and theatre actors. During her career she has worked in some of television’s most successful series including: Love Thy Neighbor ;Only Fools & Horses; Just Good Friends; Dixon of Dock Green; On The Buses; Please, Sir; Doctor at Large.

Kate’s series-regular roles include a year in Eastenders; Berkeley Square; May to December ;Family Affairs; Born & Bred and Time After Time

Leading roles in drama include Most Sincerely; Hot Money; Best of Both World and the BAFTA award-winning Edna, The Inebriate Woman.

She has appeared as a guest in: Silent Witness; Holby City; In Deep; Randall & Hopkirk Deceased; London’s Burning; The Bill; Alas Smith & Jones; Shine on Harvey Moon; The Gentle Touch; Miracles Take Longer; Minder; Lovejoy; Cats Eyes; Pork Pie.

Her film work includes: the 1979 cult smash hit Quadrophenia; Back to the Secret Garden; The Mystery of Edwin Drood; Little Dorrit; Party Party;

Kate trained at East 15 Acting School, in the early sixties, under the aegis of Theatre Workshop based at Theatre Royal Stratford East. Her long association with TRSE has included work as Actor, Director and both Secretary and Co-Chair of the Board.

For the Royal Court: Live Like Pigs, Cockroach Who?; The Dragon; Their Very Own & Golden City. Regional theatre productions include: Dandy Dick; Tonight at 8.30; Talk of the Steamie and She Stoops to Conquer.

Since the seventies Kate has been active in the training of young actors at various professional training establishments including: East 15 Acting School, Rose Bruford College, Arts Educational Schools, ALRA and Mountview. She has been a member of the team at The Italia Conti Academy since 2007.
